Reply To: Patents Expiration

I’ve too got the impression that there is a lot going on behind the scenes that they don’t want to tell us because it is NYF and they don’t want to file a patent too soon, because it would start ticking away.

For example, I’ve got the impression that they are ditching the predicated fixed-width SIMD for something more alike scalable vector or even something more Cray-like.
But I’m afraid that perhaps they are iterating a bit too much before they have even got their first product out the door.

I have been working on a hobby software project that is low-level and I wanted to support the Mill. It has been frustrating when I’ve asked about details, I’ve bee told that the Wiki is outdated or that I can’t get the info because the details are NYF. Eventually, I’ve had to drop Mill support, which is sad because it had been inspired by the Mill in the first place.
