In the bargain, we learn the names of four, previously unmentioned (so far as I’m aware) Mills. From two of those names, I’ll assume that there’s been some real interest in decimal floating-point capability. I wonder who/what market sector?
I find it interesting that Maxi has so much more scratchpad (4x) than a “mere” Gold. Is Maxi associated with the request (from Lawrence Livermore Labs, if I recall) about a supercomputing version? (The one that would have needed over a thousand contacts bonded out?)
