    How practical would it be to make mill processors socket compatible with an established line of CPUs? It would need a new BIOS, but could make it a lot easier to get respectable hardware running with the new architecture.

    That’s actually the plan, for at least initial chips, although we are far from picking a socket yet – there will be new ones by the time we have something to put in one.

    Speaking of BIOS, have you thought about what kind(s) of firmware the Mill would work with? Mainstream UEFI? Coreboot? Something else?

    That’s quite a ways away. There are license issues, socket issues, target market issues, … For later 🙂
